THE EZ PROGRAM
Approved in June of 1998 as a cooperative venture between the City and the Town of Dunkirk, the Town of Sheridan, Chautauqua County and Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc, the Dunkirk/Sheridan Empire Zone encompasses approximately two square miles and includes parts of the city of Dunkirk central business district and the Chadwick Bay Business Park. Part of the New York State initiated Empire Zones Program, the DS EZ provides free and confidential assistance to businesses seeking to locate or expand operations within the zone. The DS EZ staff can assist with identifying site options, serve as liaison with municipal planning and development processes, and identify potential financing assistance.
